Timeform highlight the best bets at Central Park and Towcester on Sunday.
“…A feature of his wins in recent weeks has been his blistering early pace…”
Timeform on Charlie Trend
Dillymore Jack (Trap 5) – 16:28 Towcester
Dillymore Jack (T5) signed off his time at Yarmouth on the up with a decisive win in A3 class in March. Having graded on at Towcester in A5 class, he’s yet to come close to that form, failing to justify short odds last week. He should, however, be spot on fitness-wise and he clearly possesses scope at this level. There is also a good chance of him securing the early lead.
Mermaid (Trap 5) – 18:02 Towcester
Mermaid (T5) made a promising return to action following a lengthy spell off the track in April when runner-up in A5 company. It’s been a surprise that she hasn’t built on that since, albeit she was only narrowly denied on her penultimate start, but she definitely has the tools to win in this grade at Towcester. On our early sectionals, Mermaid ought to be ahead by the first bend.
Charlie Trend (Trap 6) – 18:58 Central Park
As ever, there’s good-quality action on Central Park’s evening card, and the progressive Charlie Trend (T6) is fancied to complete the hat-trick. A feature of his wins in recent weeks has been his blistering early pace and that will always be a potent weapon when he gets it right out of the boxes. Charlie Trend is well berthed in six and, though there are some unknown quantities in opposition, he will be a tough nut to crack.
