Circus Maximus could have ideal ground in the Prix du Moulin

Ryan Moore rides Circus Maximus on Sunday at Longchamp and says short-priced favourite Pinatubo says he has some serious rivals in the race…

“He wasn’t at his best in the Prix Jacques Le Marois last time but you can easily forgive him that run given it came on very deep ground”

Promises to be some race at Longchamp

15:25 Longchamp – Circus Maximus

Just six runners in the Prix du Moulin, but it promises to be some race.

All are Group 1 winners, and there is very little between them on form too, so I don’t think anyone will be coming into this race overly-confident. You know what you are getting with my colt though, and that is a top-class trier. He wasn’t at his best in the Prix Jacques Le Marois last time but you can easily forgive him that run given it came on very deep ground, and it won’t be anywhere near as bad here.

In fact, it looks like being decent ground, maybe good to soft, and that will be ideal. His earlier ΒΎ length second to Mohaather, with Siskin in behind, in the Sussex Stakes is some of the best miling form around this season, so we have to be hopeful that he can get in amongst these once again. And I should probably also mention he beat Romanised, who re-opposes here, in this race last season, too. Pinatubo may be the short-priced favourite but he has five serious rivals ranged against him.
