Colorado (23-8) will attempt to reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1969. The Buffaloes have seven wins in their last eight games, including drubbing #12 Georgetown 96-73 on Saturday in the first round as six-point favorites.
Florida State (17-6) has advanced to the Sweet 16 in each of the last two tournaments. The Seminoles downed UNC Greensboro 64-54 on Saturday, failing to cover the 10.5-point spread while winning for the second time in the last three games. They are one-point favorites against Colorado in this one.

No Threes Required for FSU
Florida State dispatched UNC Greensboro despite missing all nine three-point field goal attempts. The Seminoles became the eighth team to win an NCAA Tourney game without hitting a three. Oddly, three-less teams are 5-3 in those games.
The lack of long-range shooting did not hurt Florida State as it made 52.1% (25 of 48) from the field. The Seminoles also held UNC Greensboro to 31.7% (19 of 60).

Sophomore center Balsa Koprivica just missed a third straight double-double as he finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. It is the first time this season Koprivica has strung together three straight double-digit scoring efforts.
Junior guard Anthony Polite added 12 points as Florida State won despite an off day by leading scorer M.J. Walker. The senior guard, averaging 12.5 points, was limited to four points, and hobbled after rolling his left ankle in the second half. Walker did have six assists.
Gray is averaging 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds. Freshman guard Scottie Barnes, the ACC Freshman of the Year, has averages of 10.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

Colorado Shows Its Depth
Colorado got big scoring efforts from two unexpected sources in the win over Georgetown. Freshman forward Jabari Walker poured in a career-high 24 points in 20 minutes off the bench and senior wing D’Shawn Schwartz tied a season high with 18 points.
Walker made 9-of-10 field goal attempts, including all five three-pointers. Schwartz was 6-of-8 overall and 5-of-7 from distance. Colorado shot 60.7% (34 of 56) as a team, including making 16-of-25 (64.0%) on threes.

Walker became the 16th player in NCAA Tournament history to shoot at least five threes and make them all. He had totaled just 21 points in the previous five games and gone 10 games in a row without reaching double figures.
Schwartz was 4-of-5 from beyond the arc in the first half when Colorado built a 47-23 lead. He is averaging 9.2 points a game while Walker has a 7.9 average.
Senior guard McKinley Wright IV had his third double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 assists. Junior guard Eli Parquet also matched a season high with 10 points.

Senior forward Josiah Horne (11.1, 5.8) and junior forward Evan Battey (10.0, 5.3) are scoring a combined 21.1 points and pulling down 11.1 rebounds a game.
Colorado and Florida State have two of college basketball’s best offenses. The Buffaloes are 11th in adjusted offensive efficiency with 116.1 points per 100 possessions, according to KenPom, while Florida State is 13th at 115.5.
In what should be a really good ballgame, Colorado’s greater variety of scoring options shoud make the difference. Furthermore, Florida State has been the losing side agianst the spread in each of its last four games, setting up the Buffaloes to face #1 Michigan or #8 LSU in the Sweet 16.
Pick: Colorado +1 (-110)
