American sportsbetting and daily fantasy sports provider FanDuel Group has announced the signing of a deal with Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment that is to soon see its services made available to punters across the eastern state of Connecticut.
Majority-owned by British and Irish gambling behemoth Flutter Entertainment, the firm used an official Wednesday press release to detail that the arrangement will involve its mobile-friendly iGaming services being added to the Mohegan Digital app that is set to be debuted by Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, which is an enterprise of the federally-recognized Mohegan Tribe.
New York-based FanDuel Group explained that the new arrangement is to also involve the premiere of a land-based sportsbook inside the Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment’s 1,563-room Mohegan Sun property featuring four live betting windows as well as 16 self-service kiosks. The company asserted that this coming self-branded venue will offer those visiting the giant tribal facility the chance to enjoy ‘incredible game-day atmosphere with wagering options available across a variety of sporting events’.
Amy Howe serves as President for FanDuel Group and she used the press release to declare that the alliance is still awaiting the required ‘licensing and regulatory approvals’ but could go live in time for the start of the 102nd edition of the National Football League (NFL) in September. The executive furthermore pronounced that the new relationship is scheduled to begin via the debut of a temporary Mohegan Sun sportsbook before being strengthened with the unveiling of a more permanent ‘signature lounge’ sometime in the winter.
