12.00 – Covered By MansionBet Faller Insurance Novices’ Hurdle – 1m7f

An interesting novices’ hurdle to start our Huntingdon betting tips and I’ve been long awaiting the hurdles debut of Ben Pauling’s YOUR DARLING who is held in the highest regard by connections and Henrietta Knight. He wasn’t right the last day but had earlier beaten the highly-regarded Flinteur Sacre, who went on to win subsequently and this promising five-year-old is expected to take high rank amongst this division this season.

Of the rest, the in-form PERFECT MYTH has won the last twice, including when beating two decent horses at Market Rasen the last day. I think he sets the benchmark for this particular race off a rating of 130 and in truth, he shouldn’t be far away under Bryony Frost.

Selections: YOUR DARLING, PERFECT MYTH

12.30 – Bet 10 Get 20 With MansionBet Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m3f

This looks a straight-up match between two highly promising novice hurdlers. I’m finding it very difficult to split both David Pipe’s PANIC ATTACK and Nicky Henderson’s VEGAS BLUE, given the former was mightily impressive on debut in a listed event at Market Rasen and despite only finishing down the field in the champion bumper at Cheltenham, let’s not forget she was sent off just 10/1 for that belter of a race. Meanwhile, the latter won her first two races nicely, including a listed event and although she failed to get involved on her hurdle debut when last seen, she’s expected to leave that form behind and go well today.

Selections: PANIC ATTACK, VEGAS BLUE

13.00 – MansionBet Proud To Support British Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m3f

An open-looking handicap chase and it could pay to side with the top-weight FLIGHT DECK, who was highly tried in his first couple of races before comfortably getting off the mark at the first time of asking in handicap company. He achieved some good time figures that day and beat a subsequent winner in the process. He makes his seasonal/chase debut here, and I find it interesting he’s pitched straight into this sphere.

Of the others, SPECIAL ACCEPTANCE could go well having gone well in better races than this last season. He’s gone close a few times off this sort of mark previously at this level and is tied in closely with Flight Desk on collateral form through his fourth last time. Furthermore, he goes well fresh and has the assistance of Richie McLernon doing the steering so goes into our Huntingdon betting preview.

Selections: SPECIAL ACCEPTANCE, FIGHT DECK

13.30 – MansionBet Proud To Support British Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m3f

Another tricky handicap but DARSI IN THE DARK shaped really well in a stronger race than this last time out. He stayed on to be third following on from an impressive win at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start and should go well off the same sort of mark.

Time George’s team has yet to hit the ground running this campaign but ZOUTOISE has the potential to be better than this grade and she’s progressive. Her latest win was decent given she showed great tenacity and she should improve again now she goes chasing.

Selections: DARSI IN THE PARK, ZOUTOISE

14.00 – MansionBet Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f

On paper, this looks competitive, but I’m quite keen on BRAMBLEDOWN to lay down a challenge at the business end of the race. The son of Canford Cliffs has finished second in three of his four races over timber, two of who have been behind horses rated-130 plus. He finished sixth in the other race but was arguably unlucky given his rider’s saddle slipped and to his credit, he stayed on strongly afterwards to not be beaten far. His fitness won’t need to be taken on trust as his stable can get one ready, so granted he can have a clear round, you’d like to think this four-year-old can rate higher than his official mark.

EYE OF AN EAGLE could be well-handicapped off this sort of mark having ran better than the result suggested in a slightly higher-graded race when last seen and has shown enough potential to warrant consideration in today’s line-up.

Selections: BRAMBLEDOWN, EYE OF AN EAGLE

14.35 – MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Chase – 2m7f

A lot of these handicappers take a drop in class for today’s race and I’m quite content to have a few on side for the deciding leg.

ALEXANDER THE GREY has held his form well at a much stronger level than this prior to today, and is now 2 Ib below his last winning mark which came in class 4 company. Today’s race is class 5, therefore, he’s likely to be right on the premises with ideal conditions along with his rider and trainer in flying form this past week. With all those ingredients combined, this nine-year-old looks a standout pick at the prices and should be bang on the scene.

I’m also going to keep WEST WIZARD on side, who is by no means out of this with proven form at a more tougher level. The 11-year-old has been performed to a fair standard in France of late and those runs should have teed him up nicely for today’s contest. He’s 4 Ib below his last winning mark and has done all of his racing throughout his career at a more demanding level. In conclusion, Adrian Heskin has been booked to ride, which I find rather significant and he’s worth an interest at appealing odds.

Finally, OUT OF JUSTICE is no forlorn hope to get involved, who’s last two victories have come at this level. He’s kept stronger company since without success but will find this much easier and has each-way credentials.

Selections: ALEXANDER THE GREY, OUT FOR JUSTICE, WEST WIZARD
