Bulls Hit the Skids
The Bulls put up a good fight Friday night before losing 113-106 on the road to the best-in-the-NBA Utah Jazz as 11-point underdogs.
Thaddeus Young scored a season-high 25 points and helped the Bulls outscore the Jazz 68-40 in the paint.

It was the second straight game that Young had a season high in scoring after a 19-point effort Wednesday in a loss to the Suns in Phoenix.
Zach LaVine finished with 23 points against the Jazz. He is sixth in the NBA in scoring with a 27.4 average.
Nicola Vucevic had 16 points and eight rebounds. The All-Star is averaging 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in four games since being acquired from the Orlando Magic at the trade deadline.
The Bulls had just six turnovers. However, they shot 25.0% from three-point range, making 7 of 28 attempts.
Coby White returned after missing two games with left cervical pain, scoring four points and grabbing three rebounds in 23:37. He has season averages of 14.8 points and 4.5 rebounds.

Defense has been Chicago’s problem during the six-game skid as it has given up 115.5 points a game. Three of losses have been by at least 14 points.
Aldridge Provides Boost
Five-time All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge joined the Nets’ star-studded lineup Thursday night and help spark a 111-89 victory over the visiting Charlotte Hornets in which Brooklyn was a 2.5-point favorite.
Aldridge finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and six assists. He became a free agent after agreeing to a buyout from the San Antonio Spurs.

James Harden missed the game with a hamstring injury and is questionable for Sunday. His 25.9 scoring average ranks ninth in the league and he has won the last two Eastern Conference Player of the Month awards.
Jeff Green helped picked up some of the scoring slack with 21 points for his second-highest output of the season. He connected on five three-point field goals and had eight rebounds.
Landry Shamet had five threes as he finished with 17 points. Kyrie Irving posted 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for his fourth double-double of the season. Tyler Johnson also knocked down five threes – the Nets went 20 for 45 (44.4%) from beyond the arc – to account for all his 15 points.
Shamet had scored a total of 15 points in his previous four games and Johnson had 11 points the prior four games.

The Nets led 32-11 after one quarter and quickly turned the game into a laugher. They outrebounded the Hornets 56-43 and limited Charlotte to 34.9% (34 of 86) from the field.
Nets Dominate Series
The teams are meeting for the first time this season after the Nets won all three games in 2019-20. Brooklyn has also won nine of its last 10 against the Bulls.
In the last meeting on March 8, 2020, the Nets won 110-107 at home as six-point favorites. Joe Harris had 23 points for Brooklyn. Chicago got 21 points, eight assists and six rebounds from White.
The Nets had 28 turnovers but held a 50-31 rebounding advantage and shot 50.0% (32 of 64).
Even if Harden doesn’t play, the Nets are rolling and should again beat the reeling Bulls.
The Pick: Nets -1 (-110)
