Timeform on Optic Magic

Coolavanny Galiv (Trap 5) – 19.41 Newcastle

There’s some cracking action over at Newcastle this evening including the big sprint final at 19.41 and in our book new kid on the block COOLAVANNY GALIV (Trap 5) may be the one to side with again after showing impressive gears to score last week. Marginally out trapped, he showed terrific pace to take up the lead around the opening bends before bolting clear by four and a quarter lengths. That was just his third career start and an effort backed up by the clock. This is understandably tougher but he remains the type to do better again as he gains further experience and he can come out on top.

Glenlara Mac (Trap 6) – 19:58 Newcastle

GLENLARA MAC (Trap 6, 19.58) had little go right in his respective semi-final of the Arc Northern Flat last week, meeting with significant crowding at two crucial points which comprimised his chance. However, his previous C&D third behind Ice On Fire reads well in the context of this race, and with some very smart form to call upon in Ireland, Gary Ferguson’s charge is fancied to open his account on these shores.

Optic Magic (Trap 4) – 21:28 Doncaster

OPTIC MAGIC (Trap 4, 21.28) made a fine start to her career on these shores when landing back-to-back 450-metre contests at the beginning of the month. An August 19′ youngster it’s fair to say things haven’t gone to plan since, not least when badly crowded early doors in this grade of B5 four days ago. It’s unlikely her improvement has levelled out just yet, not least on the back of just four career starts and with a clear run, the daughter of Ballymac Matt can turn mid-pack and announce her presence from the three-quarter point.
