PokerStars and FoxBet Going Live in Michigan

The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced on Friday that legal online poker is going live in Michigan. The other news is that MGCB approved Little Traverse Bay Band of Idawa Indians and the platform providers PokerStars for online gaming and FoxBet for online sports betting. The launch will happen at 11 a.m.

According to MGCB executive director, Richard Kalm, PokerStars is the very first operator to offer peer-to-peer poker games online in Michigan.

MGCB stated that although Michiganders are only allowed to play within the state lines only with other Michiganders, later this year interstate play is expected to get an approval. Until now, Michigan is the fifth state that allows real money poker games.

After a long waiting period, in January online gaming and sports betting officially went live in Michigan. Soon after that the Gaming Board announced the 10 casinos allowed to launch their services in the state.

11th Sportsbook Approved in Michigan

PokerStars and Barstoolโ€™s online casinos were approved last Friday and this makes FoxBet the 11th sportsbook approved in Michigan.

FoxBet already made the first deposit of minimum $10 and now is offering a free $100 in site credit.

FoxBet CEO Kip Levin said in a press release: โ€œThe key differentiators for us have always been our valued partnership with the FOX Corporation and the strength of our industry leading FOX Bet Super 6 product combined with the PokerStars business, and we plan to lean into these unique assets as we launch in Michigan,โ€

He added: โ€œBehind FOX Bet Sportsbook, PokerStars and Stars Casino, customers create one account for all three apps, unlocking a wide variety of exciting and entertaining options to supercharge the experience for our Michigan audience.โ€

FoxBet is a popular sportsbook platform where players can place their wagers on football, basketball, baseball and other sports. The provider currently operates in Colorado, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and most recently in Michigan. In 2019, FixBet launched its Fox Super 6 app available for Android and Apple, so it looks like the company has a lot to offer to Michigan users.

Last week BetMGM announced the launch of its online casino in Michigan right after the online sports betting went live in the state.

The new online casino will offer exciting legal online games for Michiganโ€™s residence devoted to online gaming. Some of the options include best-in-class online blackjack and roulette games to a host of slots.

BetMGM Casino will provide players with various digital games, such as video poker, as well as other casino and slot games.

Users that prefer mobile apps will also have a chance to participate in slot tournaments, progressive jackpots, all exclusive only for Michiganders.
