Buchanan Owns the Wyverns

The Wyverns has crossed the plate only four times in the last week. Things won’t get any easier on Friday, as they’ll face Samsung’s David Buchanan, who has completely dominated them in 2020.

He tossed a complete game the last time he faced them, allowing just one run and four hits. Back in June, he also stymied them, surrendering just four hits and no runs in a 3-0 victory.

Buchanan has been hard in two straight outings, but prior to that he’d allowed one run or fewer in nine of 11 starts.

SK has been outscored 82-17 over its recent skid, and can’t feel too confident with Geon Wook Lee on the mound. The right-hander gave up nine runs in only 4 innings of work last time out, and was hit hard in a 6-2 defeat versus these same Lions last month.

Pick: Samsung Lions -1.5 (-110)

KT Wiz Crushes Bell

Speaking of struggling starters, Hanwha’s Chad Bell is having one heck of a rough season. The 31-year-old is winless in nine starts, and has been victimized by the long ball in three straight outings.

One those starts was against Friday’s opponent KT Wiz and it was not pretty for Bell. He allowed five runs in five innings, marking the fourth time this season he’s allowed the opposing team to cross the plate at least than many times. The Suwon boast a top-four offense in the KBO, and in matchups versus them and the other three top hitting teams, Bell has been a disaster. He gave up five runs to Doosan two starts ago, and NC lit him up for seven when they met.

Chad Bell vs Top-Four Offenses

Opponent IP HA R BB K
DOO 5.1 9 5 2 3
KTW 5.0 6 5 2 6
NC 4.0 7 7 2 3

KT Wiz will counter Je Seong Bae, who was lights out in his only meeting versus the Eagles. Back in May, he tossed seven scoreless innings in an 8-1 victory. The 23-year-old has allowed two runs or less in three of four starts, and Hanwha has scored two runs or less in three of its last four outings.

Pick: KT Wiz Suwon -1.5 (-155)
