Timeform on Bullfinch
Bullfinch – 15:45 Kempton
Bullfinch ended last term with a comfortable win at Woverhampton, and he picked up where he left off when following up in ready fashion over this course and distance last time, showing a good turn of foot off an ordinary pace to put the race to bed under two furlongs out. He is sure to progress further and looks well placed to open his handicap account at the first time of asking.
Elected – 13:30 Kempton
Elected has attracted support on each of his three outings, probably down to his appealing pedigree, but after a promising showing on debut in June, he hasn’t been able to progress and is quickly becoming expensive to follow. He had the run of the race when third at Yarmouth on his second outing, and though he did shape as though still in good form at Redcar last time, he again failed to get the job done. He is probably capable of winning a northern novice when things fall his way, but he is up against a couple of potential improvers here and is likely to come up short again.
Alqifaar – 16:55 Kempton
26% – Owen Burrows’s strike rate with handicap debutants
Alqifaar finished fifth in what has since proven to be a very warm novice on debut last year, and he built on the promise of that effort on his return to action last month, having no answer for the winner’s turn of foot but showing degrees of encouragment nonetheless. He makes his handicap debut here and must be taken seriously with the prospect of more to come.
