Timeform pick out the best bets at Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
“…she remains fairly treated back on the all-weather…”
Timeform on Clegane
Doc Sportello – 14:30 Wolverhampton
Doc Sportello perhaps isn’t the force of old now a nine-year-old, but he is a horse to be reckoned with at this level, and seemingly has excellent claims of recording a third win of the year on these terms. He didn’t give his true running in a much deeper race than this at Southwell last time but hardly shaped as though out of form and much better is expected now with Luke Morris in the saddle.
Clegane – 15:40 Wolverhampton
Clegane appreciated the drop back to this trip when shedding her maiden tag on just her second start for this yard at Lingfield in March and wasn’t beaten far over the same course and distance on her next start. Things happened a bit too quickly for her back at six furlongs last time, but she remains fairly treated back on the all-weather and Richard Kingscote rides this track particularly well.
Ilza’eem – 16:10 Wolverhampton
A three-year-old handicap chock-full of unexposed types and Ilza’eem, who landed the odds with plenty in hand at Redcar on his return to action, looks destined for better thingg. He didn’t need to improve to open his account, but his form from last year is strong, and he is potentially well treated now handicapping. Great King was a hugely impressive winner at Newcastle and is second choice with the likelihood of more to come now stepping up in trip.
